Explore the mysterious Northern Lights in a Super Jeep
After the complimentary pick up at your hotel in Reykjavík we head out of the city light
The location visited during the Northern Lights tour vary from day to day depending on weather conditions but you can expect to travel for up to 1 hour in our search for the best location.
Northern Lights, also known as Aurora Borealis is a natural phenomenon caused by the interaction of particles from the sun with the upper atmosphere near the North Pole. In Iceland we can expect to see the Northern Lights from September to mid-April when it´s dark enough and we have a clear sky and it wouldn´t hurt to have a bit of luck.
The benefit of taking the tour in a super jeep is the small group with max 12 passenger in each car and the flexibilithy to move if the conditions change as well as our ability to go to places not passable in a normal cars or buses. And more likely that we will be there alone. It allows the guests to interact with the driver guide, ask questions and get some tips about photographing the Northern Lights.
We will give you useful tips about photographing the Northern Lights and it is possible to lend you a tripod to capture the best picture. If you do not have a camera with you don´t worry. We have ours with us and we will take pictures of the Northern Lights and send you a link to them by email. It´s free of charge. If you get cold while looking at the Northern Lights we bring hot chocolate for you and you are of course welcome to warm up in the Super Jeep.
Price is per person. Departure at 21:00 (9:00 pm) Duration 3-4 hours. We pick you up at your hotel in Reykjavík for free. Please be ready in the lobby 30 minutes before the tour starts.
The Northern Lights Tour is operated every day when the conditions are favourable. If no lights are seen you can go one more time with us free of charge the next time we go out. Please give us a call to reserve your seat.
We do our best to appraise the situation daily and carefully look at the latest data and weather reports. we only go out for the hunt when we think it is a good chance to see the Northern Lights. We let you know by email no later than 18:00(6pm)
